Kurtley Beale: 'Australia taking it game by game'

Beale: 'Australia taking it game by game'

Australia's Kurtley Beale has insisted that it is too soon for his side to be entertaining the idea of Rugby World Cup glory following their victory over England at Twickenham.

The Wallabies sent the host nation crashing out of the tournament courtesy of a 33-13 victory at Rugby HQ on Saturday night, setting up a showdown with Wales next week to determine who will take top spot in Pool A.

Beale believes that his side can take confidence from their memorable win, but insists that none of the team are looking too far beyond their match against Warren Gatland's side.

"We'll take little bits and pieces of big games. Tonight we can definitely take a lot from that game," he told Sports Mole.

"Obviously there were a few little things that we missed, and the coaches will be picking those small errors out and helping us to prepare for the Wales game. I don't think we should think about [winning the World Cup] too much.

"The best thing about this is that we're preparing for each game for what it is. We can't be thinking too far ahead. We need to focus on what's at present and that's the good thing about this team. We focus on the next job at hand and worry about the rest later."

England became the first host nation in World Cup history to exit at the group stages as a result of their defeat.
