Australia captain Stephen Moore: 'New Zealand deserved victory'

Stephen Moore admits that Australia deserved their 41-13 defeat to New Zealand at Eden Park.

Australia captain Stephen Moore has admitted that his side deserved their defeat to New Zealand at Eden Park.

The Wallabies were beaten 41-13 in Auckland on Saturday as the All Blacks clinched the Bledisloe Cup.

Having earned a 27-19 triumph over the world champions last weekend, Moore concedes that the Aussies were below par during the return fixture.

"New Zealand's intensity went up a level this week," he told reporters. "We were chasing the game a fair bit. We said during the week we needed to improve, and we didn't reach that level so they deserved to win."

Saturday's match at Eden Park saw New Zealand captain Richie McCaw win a record 142nd Test cap.
