James Horwill reveals 'disappointment'

Australia captain James Horwill says that his side must improve following their 23-21 defeat to the British and Irish Lions on Saturday.

Australia captain James Horwill has admitted that his side have only themselves to blame for their 23-21 defeat to the British and Irish Lions on Saturday.

The hosts had two late opportunities to secure victory, but the Lions survived to claim a win in the first Test.

"It's very disappointing. We were right in it and a couple of errors and ill-discipline allowed them to get a leg up. In that first half, we didn't have a lot of ball and the ball we did have we made the most of so that will give us a lot of confidence," he told Sky Sports News.

"At the end of the day, we've got to be more clinical and make more of our opportunities. I thought our set piece was very good. We really grew at scrum time. We've done a lot of work on it over the last couple of weeks.

"They went hard at the breakdown. A couple of times we were a bit slow to get in there so that's something we've got to be aware of next week."

The second Test will take place next Saturday.
