Chris Dean signs new Widnes Vikings contract

Chris Dean has extended his contract with Super League outfit Widnes Vikings.

The 26-year-old's previous deal was due to expire next summer, but he has now committed his future to the club until 2017.

"The length of this deal gives me security for my family as my partner and I have recently had a daughter and I am grateful to the club for this," the centre told the club's official website.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed the last three years here and I am excited about being a part of the progression going forward as I feel we are building something special here."

Dean scored eight tries during his 27 appearances last season.
