Vikings produce comeback to beat Devils

The Widnes Vikings have produced a second-half comeback to beat the Salford Red Devils 32-18 at the Select Security Stadium this evening.

The hosts appeared inspired from the start of the match as Chris Dean burst through after 14 minutes to score the first try.

However, Greg Johnson and Tommy Lee responded for the Devils to put them briefly ahead, before a 43rd-minute try from Joe Mellor brought the hosts back into contention.

Theo Fages was on hand to keep Salford in the game as he showed determination to score a try in the 53rd minute, though Widnes came back to notch more points from Rhys Hanbury five minutes later.

Danny Tickle was in particularly good form as he looked to kick the Vikings out of sight in the closing stages, with Kevin Brown also grabbing a late try to leave the final score at 32-18 to the home side.
