Eamon O'Carroll is fit to play for Wigan this weekend after recovering from a life-threatening sternum injury.

Eamon O’Carroll will make a return to the playing field for Wigan Warriors against Bradford Bulls on Friday after being sidelined with a sternum injury.

The 24-year-old, who has not played competitively for over a year, will be recalled to the side after Ben Cross suffered a broken arm in last week’s 52-18 win over Salford Reds.

"Everyone at the club is delighted to see Eamon back," said Wigan coach Michael Maguire.

"He has had an extremely tough last 14 months with his injury but his never-say-die attitude to training and rehabilitation has been a shining example."

Wigan go head to head with Leeds in the Challenge Cup final at Wembley on Saturday, August 27.
