Richard Agar makes the switch from Hull FC to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Richard Agar will join Wakefield Trinity Wildcats as head coach next season, the club has confirmed.

Agar is entering into a three-year deal that will keep him at Belle Vue until 2014.

"I am really looking forward to the challenge of building a team and helping to build a club and see it progress," he said of his appointment.

"Wakefield is a club with a very rich history and a very proud heritage and I’m extremely honoured to have been offered this position.”

Club chairman Andrew Glover added: “I’m very happy with this great appointment. I know our fans have thought it was a foregone conclusion that Richard was going to be our coach, but that really isn’t the case. We have interviewed many people and Richard has shone through as the best for the job.

"We look forward to our fans getting behind Richard and his team and giving them the opportunity that we feel confident they can achieve. Richard has our full backing and we are all looking forward a strong future."

Agar leaves Super League side Hull FC, having led them to a Challenge Cup final and a Grand Final during his eight years of leadership.
