Future of Crusaders to be revealed

The future of beleaguered rugby league club Crusaders is to be made clear.

The future of struggling rugby league outfit Crusaders will be made clear later today (Wednesday).

The North Wales club was thrown into chaos last month when directors withdrew the team’s application to play in the Super League next season.

A campaign group was launched shortly afterwards to save the club from collapse and to keep rugby league in Wrexham.

A joint statement from club officials and campaigners read: "An announcement regarding the future of the Crusaders Rugby League team, beyond the end of the existing Super League season, will be made this Wednesday.

"Representatives from the Crusaders Supporters Club, the 'SavetheCru' campaign and members of the existing club management will be making a statement and will answer questions."

The Crusaders played their last Super League game on Sunday in a 18-58 defeat to Hull.
