Richard Mathers joins London Broncos on two-year deal

Mathers completes Broncos switch

London Broncos have signed full-back Richard Mathers from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on a two-year deal.

The 30-year-old, who made the move to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium from rivals Castleford Tigers in 2011, announced earlier this week that he would leave the club after a new contract offer failed to materialise.

"He will be one of the highest-profile players in the Championship next season," Broncos head coach Joe Grima told the club's official website following the completion of the deal. "His experience will be great for the Broncos as Richie is close to playing 300 games in the Super League.

"This signing is an indication of how serious we are about where we want to be in 2015 and beyond and we look forward to welcoming Richie, Sasha and family to our club."

London Broncos will be playing in the Championship next season following their relegation from the Super League.
