Joe Grima: 'Plans in place for next season'

Joe Grima says that plans are already in place for life in the Championship following London Broncos' relegation.

London Broncos coach Joe Grima has said that he has already begun planning for next season following his side's relegation from Super League.

Salford Red Devils' victory against Hull FC on Saturday, coupled with the Broncos' 72-12 defeat at the hands of Warrington Wolves earlier today, ensured that the London club will be competing in the Championship next season.

"Since I took over we have had a plan A and a plan B," Grima is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "We knew where we were and there were no false illusions by myself or the staff and have been planning for relegation and the Championship.

"We have already made some good Australian-based signings which we will announce soon and 23 players will be moving on. It's been a tough 12 months with being on the brink of administration, losing players out of our squad only six players doing an off season and we recruited a squad of 31 players.

"We will be starting again from scratch in the Championship and because we have been realistic it will be a benefit to us."

The league's bottom-placed side return to action next weekend when they take on St Helens.
