Former England forward Gareth Hock fined for Twitter comments

Former England forward Gareth Hock is hit with a £1,000 fine by the RFL for "posting inappropriate material" on Twitter.

Former England forward Gareth Hock has been fined £1,000 for "posting inappropriate material" on Twitter.

The punishment relates to comments that the 31-year-old made on the social media site back in February shortly after he received a six-game ban for using his knees in a tackle.

His conduct was found to have been "prejudicial to the interests of the game", according to the Rugby Football League.

Hock, whose former clubs include Wigan Warriors, Widnes Vikings and Salford Red Devils, currently plays for Championship outfit Leigh Centurions.
