Great British Rowing hope to "learn a lot" from football

GB Rowing women's coach Jane Hall believes that rowers can learn a number of skills from football.

GB Rowing women's coach Jane Hall believes that rowers can "learn a lot" from football.

Hall, who also works as high performance coach at Leander Rowing Club, is hoping to bring some up-and-coming athletes to England's football base St George's Park for a winter training camp in the New Year.

"Rowing can learn a lot from football," Hall told TheFA.com. "There are many key areas to do with team environment and how they develop as a team that we can take into rowing.

"In every sport nowadays we talk about how the margins needed to win a gold medal or a world cup are getting smaller and smaller, and so it could be one thing that you have never even thought about that you by chance learn by coming somewhere like this that could make the difference."

Hall was recently given a tour of the facilities at the National Football Centre during a two-day visit.
