Clinical has claimed the first race of the Investec Derby Festival on Ladies Day at Epsom in the Group Three Princess Elizabeth Stakes.
The horse, who is trained by Sir Mark Prescott, was the surprise victor of the afternoon after Barefoot Lady looked clear to snatch the victory after leading the race at the final stretch.
Despite initially dropping back, jockey Luke Morris urged Clinical up three furlongs and managed to clinch top spot above favourite Joviality.
The biggest race of the day is due to go ahead at 4.05pm with the bookmakers' favourite The Fugue due to take to the course in the Newmarket challenge.
