Record-breaking Black Caviar triumphs in Melbourne

Black Caviar has extended her winning run to 23 races with victory in the Lightning Stakes in Melbourne.

It was the Australian mare's first appearances since triumphing in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.

The run, clocked at 55.42 seconds, broke the track record at Flemington Racecourse, which had stood since 1988.

Moment of Change finished in second, while Golden Archer completed the top three.
