JP McManus hires Barry Geraghty as AP McCoy's replacement

Geraghty becomes McManus's main rider

Barry Geraghty has been named as AP McCoy's successor to be the leading rider for racehorse owner JP McManus.

McCoy retired in April after securing his 20th Champion Jockey's title, leaving McManus with a hole to fill.

Geraghty won the 2003 Grand National on Monty's Pass, while he has also won the Cheltenham Gold Cup twice with Kicking King in 2005 and Bobs Worth in 2013.

The 35-year-old has been riding for Englishman Nicky Henderson in recent seasons.
