Champion racehorse Frankel's first foal born in Ireland

The foal of champion racehorse Frankel has been born in Ireland.

On Saturday evening, the bay colt was born to mare Chrysanthemum, who was bought by Godolphin owner Sheik Mohammed for over £4m in December, at Coolmore Stud.

According to BBC Sport, a spokesman for the stallion's owners Juddmonte Farm said: "From the reports I've received, his first foal is everything we could have hoped for."

The foal is said to have a white strip on his head like his father, who was unbeaten in all 14 of his races.
