Champion sprinter Black Caviar put in foal

Australian champion sprinter Black Caviar will sire former champion Exceed And Excel, announces breeder Rick Jamieson.

Champion sprinter Black Caviar has been put in foal six months after she was retired undefeated.

Breeder Rick Jamieson revealed the news during the unveiling of a bronze statue in her birthplace of Nagambie, announcing that she will sire former champion Exceed And Excel.

The Australian mare is widely regarded as one of the best sprinters to have graced the sport, with three victories in the Melbourne Cup and a win in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot last year.

Black Caviar was unbeaten in 25 races, and her run of 15 Group One wins is an Australian record.
