Bated Breath, one of the favourites for this afternoon's Darley July Cup at Newmarket, has pulled out of the race because of the deteriorating ground in Suffolk.
The three-day July Festival, which began in sunny conditions on Thursday, has received further rain over the last two days.
Bated Breath's trainer Roger Charlton announced his horse's withdrawal on Twitter, saying: "After 18mm of rain over night at Newmarket Bated Breath will not be running in the July Cup on ground that will be very testing."
Jamie Doyle now takes the mount of Genki, while Society Rock becomes the 7/2 favourite ahead of Frankie Dettori's ride Sepoy for the feature race of the Festival.
