Willie Mullins enters outsider Ballycasey for Grand National

Mullins enters outsider for Grand National

Trainer Willie Mullins has revealed that he has every confidence that 50/1 outsider Ballycasey can produce a competitive run at next month's Grand National.

After withdrawing his other two entries Prince De Beauchene and Boston Bob, Ballycasey will be Mullins's only horse in the world-famous steeplechase, but the Irishman believes that his entry will suit the ground at the Aintree course.

The 58-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I am looking forward to running him there. I think the spring ground will be better for him and his breeding suggests he will stay the trip."

Jockey Ruby Walsh, a two-time winner of the Grand National, is likely to be on board Ballycasey.
