The Uncanny Handicapper

Being such a famous sports personality on different sports, Jody Demling has provided provide opinions on the 147th Derby. With his years of experience, fans and bettors are guided by his hunches in deciding which horse they will pick to bet on as the winner.

Demling has been writing, talking, and betting for various horse racing events for a long time, making him an expert in this field of sports. His expertise helps him gain validity for his numerous opinions, especially on his race picks and predictions.

His picks last year later became the winners of the big six straight races― (1)Saudi Cup, (2)Louisiana and (3)Florida Derbies, (4)Gotham, (5)Rebel, and (6)Belmont Stakes.

He also hit the Derby-Oaks Doubles Wager at the Churchill Downs nine times already for the past 12 years. This means that his picks were the winner of both Kentucky horse racing events all but thrice during his last 12 tries.

In his picks and predictions for the Derby this year, it seems like he has unusual intuitions, especially on the top horses in the lineup. You may check out the full leaderboards of his pick on SportsLine.

Picks and Predictions

Looking at the early and latest betting odds, Essential Quality seems to be never out of the top horses' rank in this year's Derby. He has been consistent on his previous performances so far, and bettors have a keen eye on him. So surely, you can bet on the Kentucky Derby for this amazing horse.

However, Demling shares something that might shatter the hype over the colt.

Skeptic Take over Essential Quality

What Demling points out about Essential Quality is one hell of a shocker. He is losing his faith for him to win this season's Derby. This is such an off-the-wall assumption compared to other experts, who are pretty confident that Essential Quality might snatch the champion title.

According to him, Essential Quality will not even make it to the top five. It is not that the colt does not show any signs of becoming one of the placers, but Demling said that the single-digit odds is too low two months out.

As ironic as it is, this odd prediction of Demling is still not impossible to take place. But knowing that Essential Quality has not received his first loss yet, making his debut and maiden win last September, dominating Breeders' Futurity-G1 and Juvenile-G1, and leading first to Southwest Stakes-G3, you will have a hard time balancing Demling's opinion versus the statistics.

In the current betting odds, Essential Quality is the second favourite horse pick with 8/1 odds, next to the great Life Is Good with 4/1. Despite Demling's sort-of-negative guess over the colt, the high odds speak on the quality performance Essential Quality can offer. But never take this expert's opinions on him lightly. Always remember how good of a handicapper he is.

Positive Anticipation for Medina Spirit

Looking at the curveball, the handicapper is hyping Medina Spirit up. The colt has actually got a nice performance on all of his races, placing first and second consecutively on four events. Thus, he can be a good pick for the Derby.

He placed strong second as this year started during Sham-G3 last January. At the later part of the same month, the horse then made his comeback to first place against Roman Centurian and Hot Rod Charlie on 1 1/16-mile distance Robert B. Lewis-G3 within the time 1:46.46. In early March, he finished second place on San Felipe-G2 only within 1:42.18.

Those runs made Demling captivated with Medina Spirit. He even disclosed that the colt could be Bob Baffert's greatest bunch with the best odds. With the horse's current odds of +1800, this can still be improved, as Demling has been expecting to happen. Therefore, look forward to this good colt.

Takeaway

The 147th run of the highly anticipated Kentucky Derby is just around the corner. As the months go by, the thrill gets more intense, especially on the bettors' part. But before you lock in your final horse bet to win this season, you have to consider Jody Demling's opinions, no matter how odd they are.ID:438702:1false2false3false:!x!:: from db desktop :LenBod:collect5430:
