Tony McCoy fails to win Cheltenham finale as Next Sensation rides to victory

Tony McCoy fails to win his final Cheltenham Festival ride as Next Sensation scoops victory in the Grand Annual Chase.

Tony McCoy has failed to win his final ride at the Cheltenham Festival on Ned Buntline as Next Sensation scooped victory in the Grand Annual Chase.

The 40-year-old, who will retire at the end of the season, was on board the 4/1 favourite, but the horse was hampered by a faller towards the second last.

McCoy tried to guide the contender round the outside, but the energy was gone as Next Sensation, ridden by Tom Scudamore, maintained the lead to win.

Eastlake (12/1) and Croco Bay (14/1) came second and third respectively.
