Amateur jockey Tom Watson has been allowed to return home after suffering two punctured lungs in a fall at the Cheltenham Festival last week.

Watson was aboard Benbane Head in the Kim Muir Chase when he suffered the injuries that resulted in him being airlifted to Bristol's Southmead hospital.

The 28-year-old spent a number of days in intensive care, but he has now been released from hospital to continue his recovery at home.

It remains unclear when Watson will be cleared to return to action.
