Ruby Walsh is hoping that his victory during race one of the Cheltenham Festival will result in him riding more winners this week.

Ruby Walsh has expressed his confidence for the remainder of the Cheltenham Festival following his victory in the opening race of the meeting earlier today.

Riding Champagne Fever, the 33-year-old was able to hold off a late challenge from favourite Your Tent Or Mine, who was underneath Walsh's close friend Tony McCoy.

Looking ahead to the remainder of the Festival, Irish jockey Walsh feels that he is now in good position to ride more winners.

"It is high pressure riding a high profile horse, but to win the first makes things easier for the week ahead," Walsh told BBC Sport.

Walsh has collected more victories at Cheltenham than any other jockey, having crossed the line first on 35 occasions.
