Two dead as Brazil flyover collapses

Two people have died after an unfinished flyover collapsed onto a busy road in the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte on Thursday.

The bridge, which is located in one of the World Cup host cities, collapsed onto vehicles, trapping at least two trucks and a car, as well as the front part of a bus carrying passengers.

According to Eurosport, a female who was driving the bus was one of the victims, while a further 22 people have been left injured following the collapse.

Before the World Cup began, officials promised that construction of the bridge would be completed by the time the tournament got underway.

The collapsed bridge is situated about two miles away from the Mineiro Stadium, where World Cup matches are being hosted.
