London Underground to display World Cup results on platforms

The London Undergound will display World Cup results throughout the tournament to travellers via a live service.

The London Underground service will display match results from the World Cup on platforms over the next month.

The live service, which will begin on Thursday when the tournament in Brazil gets underway, will show the scoreline and goalscorers in a 130-character message on station boards.

According to the London Evening Standard, Transport for London are able to provide the updates to travellers after securing a deal with ESPNFC.

The live service, which will feature on 400 service update boards across the city and was launched by former England and Liverpool winger John Barnes, will be installed on the Central, Bakerloo, Northern and Jubilee lines, which will be among 140 stations that will carry World Cup results.
