Eighth stadium worker dies in Brazil

A 32-year-old man dies during construction work at a World Cup venue, becoming the eighth person to be killed during work on the tournament's stadia.

An eighth person has died during construction work at a World Cup venue.

Mohammed Ali, 32, was electrocuted while working in the Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba, according to a spokesman for Mato Grosso - the state where the stadium is located.

Construction at venues across Brazil has come under criticism after six stadia missed a December deadline to be fully complete.

The Cuiaba-based stadium will host four games at this summer's tournament, yet it is still missing 5,000 seats, according to The Age Sport.

The World Cup gets underway on June 13.
