Wolverhampton Wanderers superfan meets Steve Bull at wedding

Wolverhampton Wanderers superfan Peter Abbott was surprised by former striker Steve Bull at a wedding after missing his first home game in 37 years.

The 57-year-old's commitment to Wolves had to be put on hold when his step-daughter decided to get married during his team's 1-1 draw with Coventry City on Saturday.

After hearing that Abbott would not be attending Molineux, Wolves teamed up with Football League sponsors Sky Bet to arrange for Bull to meet Abbott at the wedding reception with a signed shirt and programme.

"When I turned round and saw Bully at the reception, I was gobsmacked," said Abbott. "I couldn't believe it.

"Bully is a real hero of mine, and I'm incredibly grateful to him, the club and Football League sponsors Sky Bet for making this all happen. It really did make it a very special day."

Abbott has watched 1,900 Wolves matches since 1976.
