West Ham United reference made in 'The Simpsons'

West Ham United have been immortalised in an episode of The Simpsons.

The Premier League outfit feature in the seventh episode of the 24th series called 'The Day The Earth Stood Cool' in the form of a banner. However, instead of the club's traditional claret and blue colours, the name was emblazoned on a green and gold sign.

A message on the club's official Twitter page said: "West Ham United were delighted to be featured in The Simpsons episode 'The Day The Earth Stood Cool'!"

In the episode, Bart and Lisa discover the banner when they enter the bedroom of their new neighbour T-Rex.
