Rihanna to perform at Sunderland's Stadium of Light as part of tour

Sunderland have announced that popstar Rihanna will perform at the Stadium of Light when she visits the UK for her global Diamonds tour.

The songstress is due to arrive on British shores next summer and the Premier League outfit have managed to secure the 24-year-old for a show on June 20.

"Rihanna is one of the most popular artists in the world at the moment so to be able to welcome her to the Sunderland is simply fantastic," said commercial director Gary Hutchinson.

"We are expecting to see phenomenal demand for this show, given the artist's global popularity and this could be set to be the biggest show we have ever staged here."

Rihanna will be supported by DJ David Guetta.
