Pennant faces backlash over Bin Laden costume

Jermaine Pennant has faced a Twitter backlash after dressing as Osama Bin Laden on New Year's Eve.

The Stoke City winger posed for a photo while dressed as the terrorist and holding fake dynamite with fiancee Alice Goodwin, who later posted the snaps in Instagram.

One user of the social networking site branding Pennant a "dipstick" while others said it was "disgusting" and "insensitive".

Bin Laden was killed by American Navy Seals in 2011, almost 10 years after he was believed to have ordered the September 11 terror attacks.
