Stoke City's Steven N'Zonzi named as footballer involved in 'hit and run'?

N'Zonzi at centre of 'hit and run'?

Stoke City midfielder Steven N'Zonzi is reportedly the Premier League footballer at the centre of an alleged crash involving a cyclist.

The 24-year-old's identity was originally kept under wraps when cyclist Rob Lockhart revealed that he slammed into the back of a matt-black Audi Q7 when the driver suddenly braked and pulled over to park on double yellow lines in Hale.

The cyclist accused the player of laughing at him after refusing to hand over insurance details, claiming that he will not be traced because he has foreign licence plates.

The Daily Mail has claimed that N'Zonzi is involved in the incident, but has been advised by his lawyers to stay quiet in case the police get involved.

A campaign to find the driver was set up on Twitter with Olympian Sir Chris Hoy lending his support.
