St Helens legend Dave Chisnall loses battle with cancer

St Helens legend Dave Chisnall has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 64.

The former prop enjoyed a successful career in both the club game and with England and Great Britain before his retirement in 1982.

"Everyone at Saints would like to pass on their sympathies at this sad time," said a club spokesman.

Chisnall's brothers Les and Eric were also professional rugby league players, while eldest sibling John was a boxer.
