Tottenham Hotspur fan changes name to White Hart Lane

A Tottenham Hotspur supporter has changed his name from Gary Mark Lane to Gary White Hart Lane in tribute to the North London club.

The 55-year-old decided to add Spurs' stadium to his name by deed poll for "banter" and because he has been visiting the ground for almost 40 years.

"I'd been going for so long and my surname was already Lane," the Daily Star quotes Gary as saying.

"And I like a bit of banter. I know a lot of people at Spurs, some of them with stalls up there. That's what happens when you've been going for 40 years."

The Spurs fan, who is from Knaphill, Woking, is a self-employed hod carrier and charity fundraiser.
