West Ham United striker Carlton Cole decided to angrily react on Twitter when a Tottenham Hotspur fan suggested that he should retire.

The 31-year-old came on as a substitute during Sunday's 2-2 draw with Spurs, but he left the field shortly afterwards with a hamstring injury.

It also took two minutes for the striker's teammates to kick the ball out of play when he fell injured, which one particular Tottenham fan has decided to draw upon.

He tweeted: "Hi @CarltonCole1 when your own team mates don't kick the ball out when you're lying injured for 2 mins, you think it's time to call it a day?"

According to 101greatgoals.com, Cole responded by writing: "F off you c***".

The Hammers were leading 2-0 before Danny Rose and Harry Kane scored late to share the spoils at White Hart Lane.
