Salford City 'receives food hygiene warning'

Salford City, the seventh-tier side owned by members of 'The Class of 92', is allegedly given a one-star rating by food hygiene inspectors.

Seventh-tier side Salford City has allegedly been warned that it needs to make 'major improvements' to its food hygiene standards after being hit with a one-star rating by inspectors.

The club, part-owned by 'The Class of 92's' Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville, Gary Neville and Nicky Butt, was assessed in late November and awarded the second lowest possible mark for the conditions of its kitchen.

In a report published by The Mirror, Salford City Council's environmental health department said: "Conditions found during the inspection require major improvement.

"In particular the structure and the absence of a documented food safety system were not to a standard in which to operate a commercial food business.

"You have failed to identify relevant hazards and any associated checks or procedures... that are needed to make sure the food you produce is safe."

The club was provided with eight urgent points to address to bring the facilities up to standard.
