Cristiano Ronaldo 'called as witness in Silvio Berlusconi's sex trial'

Ronaldo 'to testify in Berlusconi sex trial'

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been called as a witness to testify at the sex trial of AC Milan owner and former Italy Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

The 76-year-old has been accused of paying for sex from a nightclub dancer and then 17-year-old Karima El Mahroug, known by her stage name 'Ruby the Heart Stealer'.

Ronaldo is believed to have been called on by Berlusconi's lawyers after the Portugal international denied having a fling with Mahroug, despite the dancer telling prosecutors that she met the winger in a hotel in Milan, according to The Telegraph.

Ronaldo is expected to appear at the next hearing of the case, which is due to begin next Monday.
