Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici to marry on FA Cup final day

Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici is due to marry his long-term girlfriend Micaela Gardner on the day of the FA Cup final.

The Australian shot-stopper ended the Royals' FA Cup dream when his blunder allowed Alexis Sanchez's effort to trickle into the net in last weekend's 2-1 win for Arsenal in the semi-finals at Wembley.

A report in The Sun claimed that despite Reading being just one game away from the final, Federici and his fiancee arranged to have their wedding on May 30, the day of the showdown at Wembley.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Federici, who was left in tears following the final whistle of last weekend's clash, had plans in place to rearrange the wedding had Reading got to the final.

The 30-year-old apologised on Twitter for his goalkeeping mistake.
