Former Rangers owner Craig Whyte loses appeal against £17m Ticketus damages

Former Rangers owner Craig Whyte could be forced to pay £18m in damages to finance firm Ticketus after losing an appeal at the High Court.

The 42-year-old took the case to court after Ticketus were awarded £17m damages earlier this year in relation to the purchase of future Rangers season tickets by the firm in 2011.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Whyte has lost his appeal, but can launch a fresh one to the Court of Appeal before January 3.

Whyte dropped Rangers into administration in February 2012.
