The autobiography of Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton is reportedly due to be released in August this year.

The life story of the controversial player, who has played for Manchester City, Newcastle United and Marseille, was originally due to be published in spring 2013.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Barton was not satisfied with the work of his former ghost writer Matthew Syed - journalist and former British number one table tennis player.

Reports have claimed that the autobiography will be launched in August after it was delivered to publishers Michael Joseph.

Barton wrote on Twitter this week that he "can't wait" for the book to be released to the public.
