PSG right-back Serge Aurier sentenced to two months in prison for abusing police

Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier is sentenced to two months in prison for assaulting a police officer.

Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier has been sentenced to two months in prison after being found guilty of assaulting a police officer.

On May 30, the 23-year-old was accused of violent behaviour when police tried to diffuse an altercation outside a nightclub near Paris.

According to Eurosport, the Paris correctional tribunal also demanded that Aurier pay a €600 (£520) fine, and it is unlikely that the Ivory Coast international will carry out any jail time as he is eligible to convert the sentence to community service.

Aurier, who intends to appeal the ruling, is expected to be available for Wednesday's Champions League match against Razgrad Ludogorets.

The defender has made five appearances for the Ligue 1 giants this season.
