Oldham Athletic confirm players and staff not paid in September

Oldham Athletic confirm that the club's players and staff are yet to be paid for September.

Oldham Athletic have failed to pay the wages of their players and staff for September, it has been confirmed.

The League One club currently sit 18th in the table and are searching for a new manager following the departure of John Sheridan last week.

Oldham are believed to be trying to secure fresh investment, with Moroccan businessman Abdallah Lemsagam said to be in the frame to finance the Latics.

A club spokesman is quoted by the Manchester Evening News as saying: "The club can confirm the players and staff are yet to be paid for September.

"The club are working to resolve the situation as soon as possible."

Oldham had only won one of their first nine league games, but caretaker manager Richie Wellens has steered the team to three consecutive victories in all competitions.
