Ruddy 'involved in brawl outside nightclub'

Norwich City keeper John Ruddy has been pictured involved in a late-night altercation outside a Norwich nightclub.

In a video posted on The Sun's website, the 29-year-old is seen being restrained by friends as he attempts to lunge at a man dressed in a waistcoast during an argument.

An eyewitness alleged to the newspaper: "I think Ruddy was with his wife but I don't know what the disagreement was about. He called the bloke over and after a few minutes said 'he's a bit of a dickhead'.

"I don't think the guy took it too well. Ruddy got into the taxi and was sitting next to the door still having a discussion with the guy and the next thing Ruddy has uppercutted him, sent him on the floor.

"Ruddy then got out the cab, on top of him, thrown a few punches and then the guy got up, his face covered in blood."

In recent weeks Ruddy has lost his place in the Canaries' starting lineup to Declan Rudd, who was instrumental as they salvaged a 1-1 draw against Everton on Saturday.

A spokesman for Norwich confirmed that they were investigating the report, while Norfolk Police said that no complaint had been received.
