Newcastle United's Danny Simpson "okay" after alleged fight

Newcastle United full-back Danny Simpson has revealed that he is "okay" following a reported fight outside a takeaway.

The 26-year-old is believed to have been caught up in a brawl when he was spotted bleeding from the mouth and lying on the ground in a street in Manchester.

Simpson took to Twitter to write: "For the record im okay, 2 on 1 well done!"

Reports have claimed that Simpson, who is dating The X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, was taken to hospital.
