Africa Cup of Nations in jeopardy in wake of Ebola fears

Moroccan football chiefs refuse to confirm whether or not the nation will host next year's Africa Cup of Nations, throwing the tournament into doubt.

The 2015 Africa Cup of Nations has been thrown into doubt after Moroccan football bosses ignored a deadline to confirm whether they will host the tournament.

A deadline of November 8 had been set by the Confederation of African Football amid fears over the spread of Ebola.

The three-week competition is due to get underway in January, but Sky Sports News claims that Morocco are seeking a postponement to avoid the risk of spreading the virus.

A further decision on the tournament will now be made next week, although it is thought that Morocco will be stripped as hosts.
