Millwall fan rips assistant referee's flag

A Millwall fan rips an assistant referee's flag after disagreeing with his call.

A Millwall fan was removed from the team's New Year's Day match after ripping an assistant referee's flag.

The supporter was angry with Alan Young's decision to award a goal kick to Leicester City rather than the Lions during yesterday's 3-1 defeat at The Den.

After the match, caretaker manager Neil Harris told reporters: "I saw the flag on the floor and the linesman standing there with the handle. I think the young man just run over to tell the linesman how disappointed he was that he didn't give a corner, which it clearly was."

The fan grabbed the flag, removed it from its pole and ripped it, before being led away by stewards.

The club has not indicated whether it will be taking action against the man.
