Lewis Hamilton: 'Life has been tough since splitting from Nicole Scherzinger'

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he has experienced the "toughest" months of his life following his split from Nicole Scherzinger.

The couple parted ways after a five-year romance, with reports claiming that their hectic work schedules had put a strain on their relationship.

After winning the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday, Hamilton was quick to dedicate his first Mercedes victory to his ex-girlfriend.

"The thought on my mind through the whole race was of someone who is special to me and I wanted to dedicate it to her," the Daily Mail quotes Hamilton as saying. "It's been the toughest couple of months of my life."

Scherzinger is currently filming the new series of The X Factor in the UK.
