Chinese Grand Prix hostess not offended by Lewis Hamilton's champagne spray

The Chinese Grand Prix hostess who was sprayed with champagne in the face by Lewis Hamilton insists that she was not offended by his actions.

The hostess who was sprayed in the face with champagne by Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton at the Chinese Grand Prix has insisted that she was not offended.

The reigning F1 champion, who was celebrating winning the race at the weekend with Mercedes, was urged by campaigners to apologise for his behaviour.

However, 23-year-old Shanghai Institute of Visual Art graduate Liu Siying has claimed that she had no issue with what occurred and was doing what she was told.

"It lasted for only one or two seconds, and I did not think too much about it at all," she told the Shanghai Daily.

"I think some foreign media are more sensitive about the topic compared to local media. I was just told by my employer to stand on the podium, and that's what I did."

Hamilton is preparing for this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix.
