Rooney takes to Cheshire golf course

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney decided to play a round of golf before joining up with his England teammates.

The 28-year-old was spotted taking on a different sport the day after he helped guide his side to a 1-0 win over Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The forward, who was linked with a summer move away from the club, took to the course in Cheshire with United physiotherapist Rob Thornley, according to the Daily Mail.

Rooney is expected to feature at some point during England's upcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany.
