Paul Pogba reveals that he started to "experience depression" during Jose Mourinho's period as Manchester United manager.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that he has "experienced depression" during his time at Old Trafford.

Pogba is currently nearing the end of his sixth campaign at United, and it is expected to be his last as he contemplates departing the club on a free transfer.

The World Cup winner's two trophies at the Premier League giants came during Jose Mourinho's stint at the club, a period which now feels under-rated with United not lifting a trophy since the 2017 Europa League.

However, in an interview with La Figaro, Pogba has said that he started to feel depressed during that period, acknowledging that he did not know how to deal with the situation.

The 29-year-old said: "I've experienced depression many times in my career, but you don't talk about it. Sometimes, you don't know you're depressed, you only want to isolate yourself, be alone, and these are signs that don't deceive.

"Personally, it started when I was with Jose Mourinho in Manchester. You ask yourself questions, wonder if you're at fault, because you have never lived moments like these in your life."

Pogba was speaking ahead of representing France in an international friendly with Ivory Coast on Friday night.
