Samir Nasri's girlfriend defends his Ramadan commitment

Samir Nasri's girlfriend Anara Atanes has reportedly jumped to the Manchester City star's defence after he was accused of not respecting the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The 27-year-old posted a photo on Instagram of himself brandishing his middle finger, while posting the apparent song lyrics: "Tell a hater I say.... F**k you, F**k you, F**k you."

After posting the image of himself in a nightclub, some users accused Nasri of failing to stick to his religious beliefs, which include Muslims fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the Daily Mail, Nasri's Brighton-born girlfriend took to Twitter to write: "Yes hes fasting! Even on his holiday!"

Reports have claimed that the image was taken during a holiday in Las Vegas earlier this summer, prior to Ramadan.
